Have you ever seen the statue of James Joyce near O'Connell Street? Take a look at his Baptismal Certificate? Can you find out when his birthday is? Or the names of his parents? Congratulations to Anna Gorman and Caoimhe Brady who were the winners of the Good Grub Movie Night Hampers. They entered into the Good Grub Art Competition! Well done girls. Hope you enjoy your movie night and all those treats!
A big thank you to Good Grub who have been delivering fresh fruit and vegetables every week for our Food Parcels. President Michael D. Higgins issued special video messages for students in 6th class of primary school. Schools across Ireland have been closed since the evening of Thursday 12 March, disrupting the lives of thousands of students all around the country. In his message to the 6th class students, the President acknowledges the disruptions to students’ lives, and the disappointment associated with the cancellation of so many planned events. The President also sends his best wishes to the students, as they say good-bye to their primary school years. Many of the 5th and 6th class students may already be familiar with the Primary Planet magazine. It is a children’s monthly newspaper style glossy magazine. It contains 40 pages of fresh, topical and up to date features each month. The online version is jam packed with news, sport, entertainment, activities and competitions to children in a language they understand and in a manner they can easily relate to. It also encourages children to read and write for a purpose, providing opportunities for them to contribute to the magazine and engage with our readers.
