Historically, St John of God NS has been an all girls school, however, for the very first time from September 2025, we will begin enrolling boys and girls into Junior Infants. This is an exciting new chapter for the school and one we are very excited to be embarking on.
St John of God is a middle sized school with just under 200 pupils. We are lucky enough to have a large building with 16 brightly decorated classrooms, a new state of the art SEN class, a large playground and a football pitch.
Our playground has three areas accommodating the infants, middle classes and senior classes. During break times children can sit down, relax and meet a new friend on the Buddy Bench, glide down the slide, hang out on the monkey bars, scramble up the spider’s web or giddy up on the spring rocking horses. Our Active School Team have purchased lots of fabulous equipment for yard such as skipping ropes, hula hoops, and a variety of balls to suit every age group eg. football, rugby, dodgeballs. During the fine weather the girls love to play out on the football pitch, or “the field” as it is more commonly known.
As well as our classrooms, we have a fully equipped computerised library, a Parents' Room, a sensory room, a multi purpose hall and much more.
