Arriving at & Leaving School

Arriving At School:

Drop off time is between 8:35 and 8:50. Please do not enter the yard via the drive in gate in the morning. We will open the pedestrian gate at 8:35.
Only infant parents are permitted to walk up to the front door with their child. All other parents must drop their child at the pedestrian gate.
There is a one-way system in place. Please follow the markings on the path and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Face masks should be worn by parents dropping off or collecting their children to ensure everyone’s safety.
As unsociable as it may sound, please don’t hang around the gate or yard. We would ask all parents for their cooperation with these arrangements to ensure everyone’s safety and protection.

Leaving School at Home Time:
Junior and Senior Infants:
Collection of Junior and Senior Infants remains unchanged. Parents will wait near the front door, ensuring they maintain 2m distance from
other parents. Teachers will give children out to waiting parents one by one at 1:30.

At 2:20 1st, 3rd and 5th class will be dismissed.

1st class go to collection zone 1. Children will be released to parents one by one.
3rd class go to collection zone 2. Children will be released to parents one by one.
Those walking home will then be brought to the gate.
5th class will be brought straight to the gate.

At 2:30 2nd, 4th and 6th class will be dismissed.

2nd class go to collection zone 1. Children will be released to parents one by one.
4th class go to collection zone 2. Children will be released to parents one by one.
Those walking home will then be brought to the gate.
6th class will be brought straight to the gate.

Please leave immediately to help us avoid clusters at the gate. We greatly appreciate your cooperation with these arrangements.

In School:

Hand Hygiene
When will the children wash their hands?
When they come into school in the morning, before entering the classroom, before eating, before and after going outside, before and after using any shared equipment etc

What else has changed?

The sinks in all the toilets now have hot water and sensors on the taps.
Hand sanitizer dispensers have been fitted outside each classroom and at various points throughout the school.
Each child has been given their own individual 50ml hand sanitizer that will be refilled by the school when needed.

Stationary, Books & Other Resources:
Do I need to buy pencils, pens etc for my child?
No, the school is providing everything your child needs e.g. pencil case, rubber, sharpener, ruler, handwriting pen, highlighter, glue stick, scissors, geometry set etc.

What else has changed?

The school will provide individual art packs for each child so that they will not need to share art materials e.g. paint set, 2 brushes, colouring pencils, markers, crayons, sketchpads.
Junior Classes will store all their belongings in a personal box kept under their desk. Senior Classes will keep their belongins in the basket that is attached to their desk.
Senior Infants-3rd class will receive their own individual maths resource pack
All children who require sensory or movement breaks have been allocated their own labelled box of equipment. This equipment won’t be shared with anyone else.
Reading material (books) may be sent home with children on Mondays. They should not be brought back in to school until Thursdays. They will be quarantined until the following Monday, when they can be recirculated again.
Resources are not shared between class bubbles unless they have been thoroughly washed and/or quarantined

Break Times:
The yard has been zoned for break-times with each class in a separate zone. The children will be assigned a zone for the week and then rotated.

Senior Zones (3rd -6th Class): Astroturf Pitch 1; Astroturf Pitch 2; Sprint Track; Activity Boards to Mural Wall
Junior Zones (Junior Infants-2nd Class): Infant Playground, Infant Yard, Main Yard, Main Playground

School Lunches:

Children are provided with a Glanmore lunch and optional carton of milk daily. Lunch menus can be changed online. Please contact the school if you have forgotten your login details and we will be happy to help.
Children may bring in their own bottle of water/milk in their school bag.

Bikes & Scooters:

Please bring scooters home with you.
Bikes can be padlocked to the bike rack at the front entrance.

Cloakrooms:

Each child is assigned their own coat hook in the cloakroom outside their classroom. This is for their coat and schoolbag. Coat hooks are organised according to class pods – your daughter’s coat is close only to those in her pod.
Each cloakroom has a storage box for umbrellas on wet days so they don’t get mixed with other class bubbles’ belongings.
