Getting Involved
Getting involved is very rewarding for you and your child. You don't have to be involved in everything that is going on, you can volunteer to help out at events and to help out on the Parents' Association or you could sign up to to a classroom activity that is organised by the class teacher and HSCL coordinator.
If you are interested just call or text our HSCL on 086 0439773 for more information.

Christmas Flower Arranging
A huge thank you to all the parents, aunties and grannys who came in to help the children make their own arrangement this year, especially to those who also came in the day before to help prepare all the decorations and greenery. The day would not be possible without your help!
Games in the Classroom with Senior Infants
Senior Infants have started playing Maths and Literacy games with parents from the class. It will run for the month of November. If you would like to come in for one of the sessions just give me a text or ring me on 086 0439773.
The School Garden
(Keep checking back for more photos)
We are underway on the creation of our school garden. Thanks to Fran Dunne for building all the planter boxes. It was a huge undertaking and we are so excited to get planting and sowing. Thank you to Trish for organising it all. Ellen has stocked the school with spring bulbs and Anna, Amanda, Tony and Aimee have been busy digging around trees and helping the children plant all the spring bulbs. Now all we have to do is wait for them to bloom in February. Keep an eye out!
Ms. Buckley will be sowing the seeds for the vegetable and herb garden next and would love to have a few parent helpers. If you are interested in helping please let Nessa know on 086 0439773 or ask your class teacher for more information. |
Family Bingo
The Parents' Association along with many of our Parent Helpers organised the most successful Family Bingo yet! It certainly was a full house with extra tables and chairs being carried in to cater for all our eager families and friends. A huge thank you once again to everyone who helped out in the lead up and on the day. It would not have been possible without you.
Games in the Classroom with 1st & 2nd Class
Parents (and grandparents) from 1st and 2nd Class came in to play literacy games with their children and their classmates. These games are great for developing Oral Language, Social Skills and strengthening the bond between parent and child.
