On Friday 17th January we celebrated our first Intercultural Day. It was a very exciting and special day. Thank you to all the families who helped with the preparation in school and at home with their children, provided food and brought in such wonderful traditional clothes, ornaments and jewellery. This day was only a success because all of you came together and got involved. Here are some photos from the day. If you have any more photos feel free to send them on to me and I can add them to the website. A huge thank you to Fran Dunne for building all the new planter boxes around our school yard. We all got a great surprise when we came back from the Mid-Term break. They look amazing and we are so excited to get planting! If you have some time to spare and could help the teachers and children with the planting please let me know. We would be delighted to have you join us. You don't need any experience (we are all learning how to garden this year)!
A huge congratulations to the football team and their wonderful coaches Ms. Gerrard, Ms. Carr and Ms. Shannon who have been training the girls and preparing them for this momentous occasion. Thank you to all the supporters who travelled to Croke Park on the day to cheer them on. A big thank you also to the parent volunteers who made headbands for the entire school, came in to do face paints on the supporters and style the football teams' hair. You added so much to the day with your enthusiasm and generosity. Thank you! Take a look at the photos from the day.... On Tuesday 1st October a group of parent volunteers came in to help slice and dice all the delicious fruit and vegetables for the whole school to taste. There was a wide range of fruit and vegetables to taste - some familiar and some surprises. Each class came down with their teacher to taste everything and record which ones they liked the most. Take a look at some of the photos here. On Sunday 20th October the Parents Association organised our annual Family Bingo in the Artane Beaumont Recreation Centre. Once again they outdid themselves with extra tables and chairs being squeezed in to fit all the families. Thank you to all the families and friends who came along to show their support and take part in the fun. And a huge thank you to all the parents who put in so much effort to ensure that the day was a huge success. Many parents who are not on the Parents' Association also volunteered to help out on the day and we are very appreciative that you gave up your time for us. Well done to all the lucky winners on the day! Well done to all the girls who achieved full attendance for the month of September. What a great start to the new school year! 2 lucky girls with full attendance from each class were picked from a raffle to receive a lovely prize. Great work girls!
This is a photo of some of our staff that were out today showing their support for our school secretary. This morning school secretaries across the country stopped work for one hour at the start of the school day, as part of campaign of industrial action for better pay and equality for school secretaries. Aodhán Ó RÍordáin was also there showing his support.
@AodhanORiordain #SupportOurSchoolSecretaries Well done to all the girls who achieved full attendance for the month of June. Well done girls we enjoyed watching you all grow over the last 8 years. Check out the 6th class page for more photos. Prize Giving is always a fabulous assembly in our school.
