Our very talented 3rd class had an amazing experience last week playing with the Artane band. We were very lucky as a school to get to see the 3rd class perform in our school hall.

Happy St. Patrick's Day. We hope you all have a lovely day celebrating. Today we had a wonderful day in our school.
Seachtain na Gaeilge is all about promoting the Irish language and culture and celebrating our heritage. There are lots of lovely activities going on all over the school- paired reading using Irish books, Irish treasure hunts, an art competition, a quiz and a concert on Friday. Today 1st-6th had a special treat of a Trad session. It was wonderful the two men played a variety of musical instruments and sang for the school. Our wonderful 1st class entertained us with a beautiful Irish dance, 2nd class played the ukulele and 3rd class played the recorders. As part of World Book Week every class took part in paired reading with a different class. It was a wonderful experience for all involved. We were very lucky to have two authors visit us this week. On Monday the 4th of March, Don Conroy came to speak to 1st-6th class. He was very funny and inspiring and even drew pictures for the girls. On Tuesday the 5th of March, Pádraig Kenny talked to 2nd-6th class and told them about the process of getting a book published. He showed them some of his books and the girls had lots of excellent questions about becoming an author and the writing process.
Today we had an extra special attendance assembly as we also had the results of the 20 day challenge. Well done to all the girls who had full attendance for the month of February we hope you enjoy your certificate. A big well done to the girls who had full attendance for the last 3 months.
The 20 day challenge was an extra attendance that we took part in this term. Well done to all the girls who had full attendance for the 20 days. We hope you hang your Certificate in your house for all to see. One lucky girl got a Smyths voucher to enjoy. World book Day falls on the 7th March. To celebrate this we will have lots of fun activities starting today and continuing on all of next week. Today the Parents Association organised a Stationary and Book Fair which all the girls enjoyed. All the children dressed up as their Favourite Character from a book.
