Richard Bruton, minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment came to visit our school. He was entertained by our beautiful choir and the girls asked some wonderful questions. Graffiti Classics entertained our school this morning. The children and teachers really enjoyed the performance. We had a lovely assembly to celebrate the attendance today. Well done to all the girls who had full attendance in the month of January. We hope you display your certificate in your home. A special well done to the girls who had full attendance the last three months. Enjoy your prizes.
Second class were in charge of the St. Brigids Day Prayer service. It was fabulous and we were all delighted to see them sing the song using lámh.
What a wonderful day we had in our school today to celebrate Grandparents Day. Thank you to all the Grandparents who came to visit our school we really enjoyed hearing all your wonderful stories. Well done to 5th class for their beautiful prayer service and all the girls for their beautiful artwork. Catholic Schools week 2019 will start on January 28th. In school the girls will celebrate 2 prayer services as a whole school. On Wednesday we have invited the Grandparents in to celebrate Grandparents Day and the important role in our lives. We hope to see lots of Grandparents. Every class will have some nice art work displayed in the hall for you all to enjoy.

Thanks to the parents Association for organising a super fun Christmas Disco. We all loved dancing in our Christmas outfits. This year we are focussing on school attendance and to kick start it we took part in the Every School Day Counts Poster Competition which was run by Tusla and CYPSC. Two of our girls, Saibhín and Sophie won the overall school prize - A Family Pass to the cinema each. There were also 2 winners from each participating class receiving a homework pass each. As a special treat each class that took part also won a box of chocolates. Well done girls! See you in school EVERYDAY!

We had very special visitors in our school today! Our senior girls began training in Tag Rugby and even got to play in Aviva Stadium. A big thank you to our coach Ray for bringing it in to show us. Some of the girls have been developing some 'green fingers' as they help get our school garden winter ready. Our new winter flowers and plants include Cyclamen, Violas and Heather.
Today we tasted a range of fruit, vegetables, cheese and even some olives! Watermelon, lemons and limes proved to be the most popular of the day. A huge thank you to Ms. Clarke, Denise and all the parents who came in to school this morning to prepare, chop and serve the food. The children had a great time! Take a look at some of our photos.
Today we had a very special visit from the well known comedy caberet string quartet "Graffiti Classical". They were amazing and have instilled a new love of classical music in us all. Take a look at some of the photos from today...

On Sunday 27th May we celebrated 50 years at St. John of God. We had a great day! Thank you so much to the Parent's Association for their trojan effort in organising the whole day.

Well done to all the girls for their creative and amazing costumes. Most impressively one girl dressed up as a character from her own book!
