THE AMBER FLAG INITIATIVE

PROMOTING POSITIVE MENTAL HEALTH IN SCHOOLS

What is it?

"The Pieta Amber Flag initiative enables schools and youth groups across the country to raise awareness of the stigmas which exist in their environments, and the stressors on the mental and emotional wellbeing of those within them."

Our amber flag objectives for 2023

1. We will hold a wellbeing week in our school to promote positive mental health and wellbeing for everyone.

2. We would like to hold an Art Competition in which every girl designs a mindfulness colouring sheet. The winners will have their designs photocopied and given out to every class to enjoy!

3. We will start a 'Kindness Catcher' intiative in every class. Each class will get 'Kindness Catcher' cards, when you catch someone being kind you put it onto the kindness catcher box. That person is in with a chance of winning a prize at the end of every month!

Wellbeing week 2023

Every class practiced Yoga in the PE Hall, enjoyed daily meditations, participated in the colouring competition and buddy reading and practiced our ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling!’ whole school dance! Everyone had a great week!

We are excited to introduce our Amber Flag committee....

Well-being Week 2021

One of our Amber Flag goals was to organise a well-being week for the school! The girls on the committee designed posters to advertise the event around the school and they made videos explaining the well-being theme for each day for all the classes! On Friday, we had our fundraiser for Pieta House! We wore our clothes inside and to celebrate the end of the week, we all performed the Cha Cha slide together outside!

my happiest moment art competition

During Well-being Week, the Amber Flag Committee organised an Art Competition for all the classes! The theme was 'My Happiest Moment' :)
Congratulations to the winners........
