Exploring Physics in 6th Class
The Law of Inertia
The Girl's in 6th Class were learning about Newton's first law known as the 'The Law of Inertia.' We learned that through a lot of trial and error that we needed paper to create a stable base to help disperse the weight of the cups.To some extent gravity helps to keep the tower up if the weight is properly distributed! We also discovered what happens when it get’s top heavy. Gravity can also make the tower topple over. We got to see both in action quite a few times

Our wonderful GAA coach Colm managed to get his hands on the Sam Maguire cup for a quick visit to the girls of SJG. 5th class teacher and avid Dubs supporter, Ms. O'Dwyer was extremely excited to get a chance to hold the cup!
